The Old Man and The Sea - “Genesis” In…oh, let’s say junior year of high school…I did a comic based on Hemingway’s classic tale about an old man…and a sea… From this comic spawned a series of “Old Man” strips that I’ll start to post. I always liked the character and have considered bringing him into the “Shiny Things” world in some capacity but so far that’s yet to happen Good gracious, my spelling was atrocious in high school.

Rejected Shiny Things “Go Out and Vote” Another rather old one involving a kitten. Still calling the character “Keegan” though that is not his name anymore.

Rejected Shiny Things I’ve got so many of these old comics that I’ll put a new (old) one up every day. This comic was borderline for me—I like the earthworms up the nose part—but it ultimately fell on the side of rejection.

Rejected Shiny Things - Going through my sketchbooks and digitizing as many of the comics as I can. At least, the ones that are bearable enough to read. These are strips I sketched out that for some reason or another just didn’t make the cut. I’m never go remember the exact year but this specific comic was a very early one. Notice the extremely long torso and…shoes? Are those shoes? I drew this and I don’t even know. Yeah. Very early.
